The appetizers at the Grand Cru gala fundraiser are provided by Zydeco Kitchen & Cocktails and Bistro 28 and Chef/Owner, Steve Helt.
Chef Steve Helt began cooking professionally at the age of 16. Armed with a Hotel Restaurant Institution Management degree from Michigan State University, he added many experiences to his résumé, including managing Houston’s and J. Alexander’s Restaurants all across the country. He ended his corporate career in 2004 to open his own restaurant in Bend—Zydeco Kitchen & Cocktails.
Zydeco is a “from scratch” kitchen, focusing on healthy, local ingredients, and influenced by flavor profiles from the South. Together with his wife, Cheri, Chef Steve Helt opened Bistro 28 which provides another wonderful, local dining opportunity.
