Chef Michael Stanton was hired as head chef at Currents at the Riverhouse, one of Bend’s most iconic hotels and restaurants. Most recently of The Heathman Restaurant and Bar in Portland, where he led the culinary team for six years, Stanton brings a fresh perspective to the kitchen and introduces new offerings to the restaurant’s menu of innovative Pacific Northwest fare. A classically trained chef, Stanton has more than 26 years of experience creating fine French and American cuisine at award-winning restaurants, five-star hotels and high-quality catering operations.
What is your favorite food to pair wine with? My house made charcuterie.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Other than vegetables, it would have to be pizza.
It’s your last weekend on earth…what city are you eating in and why? Schenectady, NY. I will cook with my family. Food is life, family is love.
