Bend, Ore.July 11, 2018–If you love wine, food, and making a difference in your community, attend A Sip of Cork & Barrel, presented by Hayden Homes and NW Self Storage. All proceeds from Cork & Barrel benefit KIDS Center, Central Oregon’s only child abuse intervention center. Held on July 20th at Broken Top Club, A Sip of Cork & Barrel is packed with fun activities and will feature 16 wineries from the beautiful Sonoma County.

This festival-like atmosphere engages the wine lover for an experience that will not be forgotten. Guests have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the winemakers of Sonoma County and see what makes their wine so unique and special. This down-to-earth wine region features some of the best wine in the world with varietals ranging from Chardonnay to Cabernet. Robin Antonson, Development Director of KIDS Center, says, “We’re excited to bring Bend’s rich history to A Sip of Cork & Barrel with restaurants like Pine Tavern and at the same time, engage the new, up and coming hot spots like Too Sweet Cakes. CURRENTS and Suttle Lodge have both recently undergone extensive renovations and been rebranded to keep up with Bend’s stellar culinary scene.”

Wine and food aren’t the only things that get guests excited about this fun event! Along with an exciting silent auction, guests can participate in party boards or a variety of raffles and activities.

Party boards are experiences that take place later on in the year. They are limited to 100 guests and seats can be pre-purchased for $100 online or at a Cork & Barrel event. This year, the first party board experience is a Poker Night, sponsored by SGA Certified Public Accountants & Consultants and will be held at Deschutes Brewery’s Mountain Room on September 20, 2018. The second party board, Cocktails for a Cause, will be hosted at The Loft of Bend and will feature cocktails from chief mixologist, John Stafford, of Crafted Life. This fun evening also includes Zydeco’s favorite small bites and live music. You won’t want to miss out on this evening of fun, friends, and libations on October 25, 2018!

The famous Cork & Barrel purse raffle will be back this year! Guests that purchase raffle tickets will be entered to win one of three Hobo handbags, generously donated by Hello Sunshine and Clementine Urban Mercantile. Each of the handbags is filled with beauty products and local gift certificates. Also inside one of these handbags will be $1,000 of cold, hard cash!
